While I was biking around town today I ended at the stoplight next to a truck towing a RV. A bumper sticker on the RV told me to thank a veteran if I enjoyed my freedom.
My greatest regret of the day, of the past few years, really, is that I didn't tap on the old man's window, wait for him to roll it down, and say, "I enjoy my freedoms. Thank you."
Instead I kept to my own, trying to avoid looking at the truck or the RV or the old man inside by staring at the stoplight.
It was not the first time I have had at an opportunity and -failing to list any reason against it, only coming up with reasons to support it- passed it up.
