Maybe one day
I'll click through others' Facebook pictures without feeling ugly
or boring
or defective.
or defective.
Maybe one day
I'll read others' blogs without comparing the
number of their followers
to the number which follow mine.
Maybe one day
I won't check my email an un-exaggerated seven times (or more) a day,
starved for attention, or -at least-
won't make up some correlation between my inbox and the people whom I can depend upon.
Maybe one day I'll be able to say
Until then,
I will keep seeing
the beauty
I
don't
have.

Dearest Marcie,
I think you are one of the most beautiful people I've ever met. Inside and out.
<3
I love you.
Sincerely,
Me!
Maybe someday I won't think my validation comes from how many people think I'm funny or cool or pretty or where I'm going on a mission is awesome. Maybe.
I only have 5 followers on my blog :), so add me to your list of people you're cooler than :).
I used to do that same thing to myself when looking at facebook pictures. Still do a bit. That's when I deactivated my facebook account because it was truly damaging my self-worth. Now, if I start to feel that way I X out and never look at that persons pictures again. There are a few people's blogs I looked at once and will never again so I don't self-destruct :). Don't beat yourself up, we all do it and you're on a higher level of coolness than most of us boring people. You're great Marcie!
At least you always have Top Ramen! :)
